This Is What A “Football To The Groin” Looks Like In Australia (Video)
This Is One Vicious Rugby Hit (Video)
Last Tuesday we told you about the South Sydney Rabbitohs’ epic last-minute comeback against the Sydney Roosters of Australia’s National Rugby League.
This Tuesday, oddly enough, we have yet another story about the Rabbitohs. However, while it’s pretty awesome, it’s not what you would call “inspiring.”
On Saturday night, the Rabbitohs faced off against the St George Illawarra Dragons, defeating them 36-14. Unfortunately, the victory came at a high price, since it looks like they’ll be without fullback Greg Inglis for at least a few games after his monster hit on the Dragons’ Dean Young.
The high hit, which the NRL would call a “headshot,” knocked Young out cold—he had to be carted off the field on a stretcher—and sparked a brawl between the two sides.
Check it out:
The NRL charged Inglis with a “grade 4 serious contact” penalty, which carries an automatic 4-game suspension. Inglis, for his part, has pleaded guilty to dangerous contact, but will challenge the grade of the hit tomorrow night before the league’s judiciary board. Dangerous hits are graded on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the most severe.
The hit looked pretty severe to me, though.
What do you think?
