This Fan Danced Like Nobody Was Watching…Because It Was the Trop, and Hardly Anyone Was (Video)
So last night at CitiField in New York it was “Star Wars Night”—or, as I like to call it, “Bring a Nerd to the Ballgame Night.”
Why was it “Star Wars Night”?
Well, apparently Lucasfilm, Major League Baseball, and charity organization Stand Up To Cancer have teamed up to “use the Force for good” this season.
What does that mean? I’m not really sure, but 10 different clubs are having “Star Wars Nights” (the Tigers, Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Marlins, Rays, Mets, Braves, Giants, White Sox, and A’s), and these special themed baseball games are somehow supposed to raise money for cancer research. I think there’s some kind of special ticket package people can buy or something. It’s all pretty vague, to be honest.
Anyway, last night there were a bunch of dudes dressed up as characters from the classic 1977 sci-fi film just wandering around Citi Field during the N.L. East matchup between the Mets and Nationals. And the people running the show at Citi Field figured, “hey, if they can put Barack and Michelle Obama on the kiss cam at the Verizon Center in Washington, we can put Darth Vader on the kiss cam here.”

I’m glad they didn’t leave out the Tusken Raider. It would have been a big blow to his self esteem.
