nolan ryan 300 winsIt was on this day in 1990 that Nolan Ryan recorded his 300th victory as an MLB pitcher.  He was only the 20th MLB pitcher at the time to reach the milestone.

Ryan recorded his 300th win while playing with the Texas Rangers, as he punched his ticket into this prestigious club by beating the Milwaukee Brewers.  Despite playing in his 24th MLB season as a 43-year-old, Ryan still appeared to have plenty left in the tank, as he also recorded a no-hitter that season against the Oakland A’s, and he would add another (his Major League record seventh no-hitter) the following year against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Ryan would finish his career with a total of 324 victories, which currently ties him for 14th on the all-time wins list.

Here is a look at Nolan Ryan’s MLB Hall of Fame biography.
