Brazilian Volleyball Player Fabiana Oliveira Gives Us The Highlight Of The Olympics So Far (Video)
Abby Wambach and Sydney Leroux scored goals in the 27th and 87th minutes, respectively, to give the USA women’s soccer team a 2-0 quarterfinal victory over New Zealand, ending the Kiwi’s hopes for an Olympic medal at the 2012 London Games.
Despite being outplayed for much of the match, the Kiwi’s still had a shot to tie the game (they recorded 10 shots, five of which were on target), until Leroux’s marker sealed in with only a few minutes remaining. However, it wasn’t Leroux who would deliver the biggest blow to the Kiwis.
Rather, it was Alex Morgan, who nearly decapitated Kiwi keeper Nicole Barnhart with this vicious knee to the face.
