US Gymnasts Are Hitting The Town Now That Their Events Have Concluded (Video)
Now that the women’s gymnastics competition has finally concluded at the 2012 Summer Olympics, the American gymnasts—so successful this year—can finally relax and have some fun in one of the world’s greatest cities.
So what does relaxing and having fun entail if you are gold medalists Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Jordyn Wieber, Kyla Ross, and McKayla Maroney?
Well, the other day they all took a tour of London on one of its famous red double-decker buses…along with Jenna Bush, the daughter of former U.S. President George W. Bush. Apparently it was some kind of gimmick for a segment on NBC’s Today, but that’s not really important. What is important is that McKayla Maroney—the one who gave us the perfect vault—taught the former first daughter how to Dougie. On a moving bus. With cameras rolling.
It’s so weird, and yet so awesome. Have a look:
So what else is the USA women’s gymnastics team up to, besides teaching former presidents’ daughters how to Dougie? Well, yesterday Aly Raisman gave us a classic Twitter fail.
She meant to send a private message to an unknown recipient, but she tweeted it instead. And this is what it said:
Why are they nervous, I wonder? Probably because, except for Raisman, who is 18, everyone else is 17 or under.
So yeah, they were goin’ out for some VIP underaged drinking. That’s quite a Twitter fail.
Of course, she noticed her mistake and quickly tried to cover her tracks by replacing the “some club” tweet with this one:
Yeah, nice try Aly.
