Stat Line Of The Night — 8/27/12 — Felix Hernandez
In just his second start since recording a perfect game on August 15th, pitcher Felix Hernandez didn’t get much offensive support from his Seattle Mariners teammates, as they recorded just one run against the Minnesota Twins last night. Luckily for them, that was all King Felix would need.
Hernandez continued to stymie opposing batters, as he allowed just five hits and one walk, while striking out five during his fifth complete-game shutout of the season, as the Mariners escaped with the 1-0 victory over the Twins.
With the win, King Felix is now an impressive 13-5 on the season with a 2.43 ERA. He has recorded three complete-game shutouts in his last five starts, while allowing only one earned run against over the course of his last three starts. He may be the most dominant pitcher in baseball at the moment, and he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, August 27, 2012.
