Cristiano Ronaldo Backheel And Lionel Messi Free Kick Goals Highlight Spanish Super Cup (Videos)
Who is the best soccer player in the world—Lionel Messi, or Cristiano Ronaldo?
And don’t get cute and say “Wayne Rooney.” I’m trying to set up some drama, here.
You see, this week Barcelona and Real Madrid faced off in the two-legged Supercopa de España, which pits the winner of La Liga against the winner of the Copa del Rey. And while Messi and Barcelona took the first match at home, 3-2, it was Ronaldo and Real Madrid that had the last laugh. They beat Barca in Madrid yesterday, 2-1, and despite the fact that there was a 4-4 tie in aggregate goals, Real took the Cup because they notched two away goals to Barca’s one.
So I guess that means Ronaldo is the best in the world, right?
Yeah, I’m not buying it either. However, he did score an amazing goal to give Real Madrid a 2-0 lead early in the first half. It was just a back-heel pass 20 feet in the air to himself. No big deal.
Check it out:
But then Messi answered back with his own amazing goal just before halftime.
Here it is:
Screw Beckham, man. Bend it like Messi, because that was nasty.
Thus, Lionel may have lost the Supercopa to Ronaldo, but I’m still going with him in this whole “who’s the best” debate.
Who you got?
