Well, the Bird Man has struck again.

You do remember the Bird Man, right?  For those who don’t, allow me to refresh your memory.

Webb Simpson had just won the 2012 U.S. Open and was doing an interview with Bob Costas on NBC when a dude in a crazy Union Jack mohawk hat got in front of the camera and started doing bird calls…You know—the Bird Man!  Remember him now?

Well, it seems that this guy doesn’t want to be a one-hit wonder. He wants to be a famous sports interrupter along the lines of world-famous streaker Mark Roberts.  So on Saturday he interrupted yet another prominent sporting event: the big season-opener between Notre Dame and Navy in Dublin, Ireland.

That’s right.  During the Notre Dame game on Saturday he ran onto the field, stole the football, ran into the end zone, and did a happy little jig. And all in that same stupid hat.

As you can see, Bird Man got off pretty easy this time. There was no tasering or brutal take-down by the security guards. In fact, they were laughing as they ran out to apprehend him. The worst he got was an angry stare from a Navy photographer. So I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of this guy.
