Watch This Amazing Video Of A High School Football Referee Getting Hit In The Head By An Errant Pass
The NFL’s experiment with replacement refs during the 2012 preseason has been pretty comical, to say the least. However, as bad as they have been, at least none of them have been hit in the head and knocked off their feet by an errant pass. Or at least, not yet.
However, such a misfortune did befall one poor referee at a high school football game in Allentown, Pennsylvania, just last week.
At the season-opening game between the Dieruff High Huskies and the Pocono Mountain East Cardinals, Huskies quarterback Quintin Williams accomplished a remarkable feat when he launched a long pass down the field that overshot the intended receiver by 10 yards, but managed to clock an official in the head and knock him off his feet.
It was so awesome that, if it had been any other team but this one—which has lost 31 games in a row—I would have wondered whether it was intentional.
As it is, it’s just a happy accident.
Take a look:
If you look closely, you’ll notice a guy in a red shirt standing up against a fence in the background who stomps and claps excitedly when the ref gets hit in the head. I don’t know about you, but I think if I were there, I’d probably be doing the same thing.
