Stat Line Of The Night — 9/16/12 — Reggie Bush
Stat Line Of The Night — 9/17/12 — Cliff Lee
The Philadelphia Phillies entered the 2012 MLB season with the highest of expectations, but they have failed to live up to those expectations, as they were one game below the .500 mark heading into last night’s game against the New York Mets. But despite their struggles, they were still only four games back of the St. Louis Cardinals for the second NL Wild Card spot. And they would close that gap by another half-game, thanks to a terrific performance on the mound from Cliff Lee.
The Phillies’ lefty had a tough start to the season, but he entered the game with wins in each of his last three decisions, and he kept that streak alive by allowing just seven hits and one earned run during eight solid innings of work. He would also record 10 strikeouts on the night, leading the Phillies to the crucial 3-1 victory, while earning himself “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, September 17, 2012.
