Stat Line Of The Night — 9/27/12 — Joe Flacco
During the off-season, Joe Flacco raised plenty of eyebrows when he said during an interview with WNST Radio in Baltimore that he believes he is the best quarterback in the NFL. Well, three weeks into the 2012 season, the Baltimore Ravens’ signal-caller has done one heck of a job living up to those standards he placed upon himself back in April. And he continued his stellar play during last night’s week four contest against the Cleveland Browns.
Entering the game ranked second in the league in total passing yards, Flacco continued to pile up the stats, as he completed 28 of his 46 pass attempts for 356 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He also rushed for a touchdown during the third quarter, and despite the Browns’ ability to make things interesting down the stretch, they were unable to overcome Flacco’s impressive performance, as his Ravens escaped with the 23-16 victory.
With the win, Baltimore improves to 3-1 on the season, good enough for top spot in the AFC North. As for Flacco, he has easily been one of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL through the first quarter of the season. Whether he can maintain this pace through the final quarter of the season remains to be seen, but for now he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, September 27, 2012.
