Meet Jamani Swanson, The Best “Little Person” Basketball Player In The World (Video)
Basketball has had it’s share of diminutive stars. Nate Robinson of the Chicago Bulls is just 5’9″. So was Calvin Murphy, a.k.a. the Pocket Rocket. Then there was Spudd Webb, who was only 5’7″, and yet he won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 1986. And of course, we can’t forget the shortest of them all, Muggsy Bogues. That guy was only 5’3″!
Anyway, my point here is that, while tall people definitely have an advantage in the game of basketball, they don’t have a monopoly on ability. And that brings us to Jamani Swanson—a.k.a. Mani Love, a.k.a. Mani Fresh, a.k.a. Lil’ Engine.
You see, Mani is a little person, but he never let that stop him from pursuing his love of basketball. The result? The dude is a flat-out baller. And this past summer he played in the Venice Basketball League, which combines “the sounds of the best DJ’s” with “entertainment-style play” by “Professional D-Leaguers and NBA draft picks to solid entertainment players, top entertainers, and celebrities to college and high school MVP’s and even street ball’s most skilled tricksters.”
So how did Mani do? Well, he got his own highlight video. So I guess he did okay.
Check it out:
You have to admit, the dude is slick. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to guard him.
