Like Father Like Son: Manute Bol’s Son Is In The 7th Grade And Already A 6’5″ Basketball Prodigy (Video)
Remember Manute Bol, the 7-foot-7 giant who played 10 years in the NBA for the Bullets, Warriors, 76ers, and Heat?
Well, if you do, then you probably also remember that he died tragically in 2010 at the age of 47. However, the great Sudanese shot blocker left behind two important legacies. The first was his charity work in his native Sudan.
The other legacy? His ten children. And as it turns out, one of Manute’s ten kids appears destined to follow in his father’s footsteps and embark on a career in basketball.
Oh, sure, Bol Bol (yes, that’s his name) is only in the 7th grade. But the kid is already 6’5″ and is demonstrating a clear knack for the game. And unlike his father, who was a defensive specialist that never averaged more that 3.9 points per game in his carer, young Bol Bol has a scoring touch, too.
Don’t believe me? You can see Bol Bol play for yourself in the video below. It’s from a recent Crossroads Elit Basketball Camp held in Indianapolis.
Check it out:
How ’bout those treys and that sweet behind-the-back pass at the 0:38 mark? I’d say Bol is pretty good for a kid who is still figuring out how to move his gigantic frame around. Like 8th grader Isaiah Stokes, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Bol in the NBA in about seven years or so.
