Stat Line Of The Night — 10/14/12 — Aaron Rodgers
Stat Line Of The Night — 10/15/12 — Peyton Manning
Midway through yesterday’s Monday Night Football match-up between the San Diego Chargers and the Denver Broncos, it appeared as though Philip Rivers was well on his way towards earning “Stat Line of the Night” honors, as he had passed for two touchdowns and his team was out to a commanding 24-0 lead. However, a much different story would unfold during the final 30 minutes of play, as Rivers turned the ball over five times (three interceptions and two fumbles), and Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning took advantage.
After struggling throughout the first half of the game, Manning bounced back with three second half touchdowns. That trio of scores, along with two defensive touchdowns, would help the Broncos mount the improbable comeback, as they erased their 24-point deficit, en route to the improbable 35-24 victory.
Despite getting out to a slow start, Manning still finished with 24 completions on 30 attempts for 309 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. And he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, October 15, 2012.
