With the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and new-look Lakers all in action on opening night of the 2012-13 NBA season, who would have ever expected the best stat line to come from a player playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers?  And even if we told you that it was a member of the Cavs putting forth the most impressive performance, you’d probably assume we were talking about Kyrie Irving, right?

Well, we’re not.  Rather, it was Anderson Varejao who was lighting up the scoreboard on this star-studded night, as he posted a complete stat line that included 23 rebounds, nine points, nine assists, and two blocks during the Cavaliers’ 94-84 victory over the Washington Wizards.

In case you were still wondering, LeBron James did finish with 26 points, 10 rebounds and three assists during the Heat’s 120-107 victory over the Celtics.  A solid stat line for the 2012 NBA MVP, but not enough to overshadow Anderson Varejao, who earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
