Stat Line Of The Night — 10/29/12 — Alex Smith
With the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and new-look Lakers all in action on opening night of the 2012-13 NBA season, who would have ever expected the best stat line to come from a player playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers? And even if we told you that it was a member of the Cavs putting forth the most impressive performance, you'd probably assume we w
ere talking about Kyrie Irving, right?
Well, we're not. Rather, it was Anderson Varejao who was lighting up the scoreboard on this star-studded night, as he posted a complete stat line that included 23 rebounds, nine points, nine assists, and two blocks during the Cavaliers' 94-84 victory over the Washington Wizards.
In case you were still wondering, LeBron James did finish with 26 points, 10 rebounds and three assists during the Heat's 120-107 victory over the Celtics. A solid stat line for the 2012 NBA MVP, but not enough to overshadow Anderson Varejao, who earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
