Stat Line Of The Night — 10/31/12 — James Harden
When James Harden was traded from the powerhouse Oklahoma City Thunder to the Houston Rockets over the weekend, many wondered whether he could make the transition from being an all-star caliber sixth-man, to being an all-star caliber lead man. Well, Harden provided an answer to that question during his debut in a Rockets uniform last night, as his performance on the hard-court proved that he is quite capable of carrying this Rockets team.
Harden led all NBA scorers on the night, as he nailed 14 of his 25 shot attempts for 37 points. And if that wasn’t enough, the 23-year-old shooting guard also recorded 12 assists, six rebounds, four steals and one block, as the new-look Rockets kicked off their season with a 105-96 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
Seeing as how we are only two days into the 2012-13 NBA season, it is still much too early to determine exactly who came out on top of the trade between the Rockets and the Thunder. But things are certainly looking good for Houston following last night’s performance from Harden, as he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, October 31, 2012.
