Stat Line Of The Night — 11/5/12 — Marc Gasol
The Oklahoma City Thunder, the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Lakers receive most of the attention when we talk about the top contenders in the NBA’s Western Conference, but with a front court that includes the likes of Marc Gasol, Zach Randolph and Rudy Gay, we would be wise not to forget about the Memphis Grizzlies. Sure, they may not have the star power that those other teams possess, but with that type of size and strength at their three, four and five positions, they certainly shouldn’t be ignored.
That size and strength was on display during last night’s game against the Utah Jazz, as Randolph recorded an impressive 16 points and 18 rebounds, while Gay chipped in with 15 points and five rebounds of his own. And leading the way for the Grizzlies big-men was Marc Gasol, who filled his stat line with 22 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and three blocks during his team’s 103-94 victory.
With the win, the Grizzlies improve to 2-1 on the season. As for Gasol, he is now averaging 21 points, seven rebounds and six assists per game, and he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, November 5, 2012.
