Let's All Watch Hasheem Thabeet Trip Over His Own Feet (Video)
There was plenty of hype surrounding Hasheem Thabeet coming out of college, as the 7'3″ center was drafted by the Memphis Grizzlies with the second overall pick after leading UConn to the 2009 NCAA Final Four.
But things haven't quite worked out as planned for Thabeet in the pros. After averaging 3.1 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game in 13 minutes of play during his rookie season, he averaged just over eight minutes per game with the Grizzlies through the first 45 games the following season, before being shipped off to Houston during the NBA trade deadline. Less than one month later, he was sent to the D-League, and over the next three seasons he would play in just 22 games with the Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers.
Thabeet signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the 2012-13 NBA season, and needless to say, it doesn't appear as though the change of scenery is going to resurrect what appears to be a career that is currently on life support.
What makes us so sure of this, you ask? Well, for starters, there's his less than impressive stat line, which includes 3.8 points, 3.o rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game thus far.
And then there's this embarrassing highlight of Thabeet tripping over his own feet on a fast break during last night's game against the Raptors.
Check it out:
Sure, the Thunder were able to come away with the convincing 108-88 victory, but because of Thabeet, it's hard to say that they looked good in the process.
