Bruins’ Shawn Thornton Performs “Twas The Night Before Christmas” with the Boston Pops (Video)
The list of interesting jobs performed by NHLers during the lockout is growing longer and weirder everyday.
Just to recap, we’ve seen Vancouver’s David Booth hunting gigantic wild beasts, Montreal’s P.K. Subban doing the weather and training police dogs, Los Angeles’s Dustin Penner interning for Conan O’Brien, and pretty much everyone in the Nashville Predators’ organization pitching in to give some kids a genuine NHL experience.
So what interesting non-hockey job is an NHL player doing now?
How about Boston Bruins winger Shawn Thornton narrating ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas with the legendary Boston Pops to help kick off their holiday concert season?
Yeah, I wouldn’t have thought there was much overlap between the classical music and hockey communities in Boston either—but there is! Here’s the proof:
I don’t think Morgan Freeman has to worry about Shawn Thornton taking his job with Visa any time soon, but all things considered, I’d say the NHL grinder did pretty well. Though, I would have much rather seen Thornton conduct the orchestra. That would have been epic.
