Knicks' Raymond Felton Delivers the Worst Field-Goal Attempt of the Season (Video)
NBA Referee Courtney Kirkland Blocks Kris Humphries’ Free Throw (Video)
NBA referees are having a really weird week.
You might recall that, on Tuesday, we told you about the referee for the Miami-Atlanta game who used his feet to keep the ball from bouncing out of bounds, setting up an easy bucket for LeBron. But if you thought that was bizarre, wait till you see what happened at the Raptors-Nets game last night in Toronto.
With Brooklyn up 81-68 in the fourth quarter (I know, shocking) and the former Mr. Kardashian, Kris Humphries, at the free throw line, the Raptors decided to make a last second substitution. However, Humphries didn’t hear the ref standing at the scorer’s table shouting at him to hold up as he began to take his shot. So what did referee Courtney Kirkland do? He ran up and blocked the free throw.
I kid you not. The ref jumped up into the air and physically blocked Kris Humphries’ free throw.
See for yourself:
Yeah, I think the phrase you were looking for is, “WTF?”
We’re only a quarter of the way through the season, but I’d say Kirkland already needs a vacation. Clearly the pressure of the game is getting to him, and he’s starting to lose his marbles.
