Stat Line of the Night — 1/13/2013 — Shane Vereen
Stat Line of the Night — 1/14/2013 — Russell Westbrook
The Oklahoma City Thunder visited Phoenix on Tuesday looking to become the first team in the NBA to reach 30 wins on the season. And they would accomplish that feat, thanks in large part to the performances put forth by their two superstars.
Leading the way in the points category was Kevin Durant, who scored a game-high 41, but it was Russell Westbrook’s stat line that was most impressive on this night. In addition to scoring 36 points in 36 minutes of play, the Thunder point guard also added eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and just one turnover during OKC’s 102-90 victory over the Suns.
With the win, the Thunder remain one game up on the Los Angeles Clippers for top spot in the Western Conference. As for Westbrook, with season averages of 22.2 ppg, 8.4 apg and 5.3 rpg, he appears to be headed for his third consecutive all-star appearance. But for now, he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, January 14, 2013.
