Stat Line of the Night — 1/15/2013 — Dwight Howard
Stat Line of the Night — 1/16/2013 — Jeff Teague
The Atlanta Hawks found themselves shorthanded going into last night’s game against the Brooklyn Nets, as they were without several players, including superstar Josh Smith.
Smith has been the best player for the Hawks this season, but he was suspended for one game by the organization for “conduct detrimental to the team” following an incident at practice. That would make winning their second game in the last eight even tougher for the Hawks, but they would get the job done, thanks in large part to the effort of Jeff Teague.
With his team looking for someone to step up, Teague answered the call with game-highs in points and assists, with 28 and 11, respectively. He also added four rebounds in 37 minutes of play, as the Hawks escaped with the 109-95 victory.
In addition to snapping their own slump, the Hawks’ victory also ended the Nets’ winning streak at seven games. Teague had plenty to do with that, as he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, January 16, 2013.
