On October 23, 2011, Tim Tebow got down on one knee and said a little prayer on the football field following the Denver Broncos’ 18-15 come-from-behind victory over the Miami Dolphins in overtime. Suddenly, Tebowing was born.
From that point, people everywhere began getting down on one knee, placing their elbow on their other knee and their knuckle on their forehead in an attempt to mimic Tebow’s popular post-game pose. That paved the way for other less popular quarterback-inspired internet memes, like Griffining and Kaepernicking.
And now, following that whole Manti Te’o fake girlfriend hoax fiasco that has taken the sports world by storm, we are pleased to introduce to you the newest football-inspired photo meme to hit the world wide web.
It’s called Te’oing, and the concept is quite simple: take a photo of yourself and your imaginary girlfriend hanging out.
In less than 24 hours, the Te’oing fad has spread through social media like wildfire, and someone even put together a Te’oing page on Tumblr, where people have been uploading their Te’oing pics at an incredible rate.
You can see some of those images via the above gallery.
