Stat Line of the Night — 1/17/2013 — LeBron James
On Wednesday night, LeBron James became the youngest player in NBA history to reach 20,000 career points. On Thursday night, he began making his ascent towards the 30,000-point plateau with a 39-point effort against the Lakers in Los Angeles.
With Jack Nicholson and plenty of other celebrities in attendance at the Staples Center to watch last season’s MVP, James gave them quite the show, as he added eight assists, seven rebounds, three steals and a block to his game-high point total during the Heat’s 99-90 victory.
The 2012-13 NBA season has been another MVP-worthy campaign for LeBron thus far, as he is currently averaging 26.3 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game while leading the Heat to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. And after last night’s performance, he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, January 17, 2013.
