Stat Line of the Night — 1/17/2013 — LeBron James
Following a one-year hiatus from the NHL playoffs, the Anaheim Ducks will be looking to make their return to post-season play during the lockout-shortened 2013 season. And thus far, their offense has certainly done their part to help that cause.
On Saturday, it was Teemu Selanne recording a four-point night (two goals, two assists), as the Ducks
kicked off the season with a 7-3 victory over the Canucks in Vancouver. And last night their offense was filling the net with pucks once again, but this time it was Daniel Winnik leading the charge with a pair of goals and an assist during a 5-4 win against the Calgary Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Winnik also scored two goals in the Ducks' opener on Saturday, giving him a total of four goals and an assists just two games into the season. To say that the 27-year-old forward has a shot at winning the scoring title may be a bit of a stretch at this point, but he does earn “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, January 21, 2013.
