Two Ravens Fans Demonstrate the Perils of Excessive Drunken Celebration (Videos)
They love their Ravens in Baltimore, so it’s no surprise that people took to the streets to celebrates their team’s big victory over the 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday.
If you’re a hardcore sports fan, it’s hard to blame them. After all, they only have two pro sports teams in Baltimore, and the Orioles have been mostly terrible since their last World Series victory in 1983. So the Ravens have been the only real source of hope for Baltimore sports fans over the past two decades, and they have delivered. Two championships 11 years apart over 17 seasons? I don’t know about you, but I’d take that.
Anyway, the point is, Baltimoreans love the Ravens about as much as they love crab cakes. So when they won on Sunday, people went nuts.
Unfortunately, two of those people went just a little too nuts.
The first guy we have climbs a light pole, grabs on to some sort of bar sticking out from it, and does some very impressive pull-ups. Then the bar breaks and he falls, with the street sign beneath him breaking his fall…and maybe his spine.
The second guy, like the first, started out well. He was standing shirtless on the first-story ledge of a building with a drunken crown encouraging him to jump from that ledge into a tree. He listened to the mob, which is always a good thing to do, and it worked out—he made it safely into the tree! But then he tried to climb down, and it turned out that not all the branches were sturdy enough to support the weight of a grown man. So…
Anyway, like I said, the exuberance of these fans is totally understandable. But their judgment is a little lacking. That being said, at least they didn’t destroy any buses.
