Stat Line of the Night — 2/10/2013 — Paul Pierce
The Boston Celtics may have lost Rajon Rondo for the season, but that hasn’t slowed them down one bit, thanks to the recent play of Paul Pierce.
Heading into Sunday, the Celtics had recorded six straight victories. And during each of those victories, Pierce has contributed either a triple-double (once), a double-double (three times), or 20-plus points (twice). And during yesterday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, a Celtics victory was once again coupled with an impressive stat line from the 35-year-old forward, as Pierce went off for 27 points, 14 rebounds and 14 assists during Boston’s 118-114 victory in triple-overtime.
Sure, it may have taken him 54 minutes of playing time to get their, but the triple-double was Pierce’s second of the season, and it is enough to earn him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, February 10, 2013.
