NESN Announcer Jack Edwards Jumps For Joy After Bruins Tie the Game (Video)
Thomas Vanek of the Buffalo Sabres and Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks were early candidates for “Assist of the Year” honors when they each delivered their own behind-the-back passes, which set up goals by Jason Pominville and Marian Hossa, respective
ly, earlier in the season.
Unfortunately for both Vanek and Kane, they have since been outdone by the New York Rangers' Rick Nash, who set up a Carl Hagelin goal with a behind-the-back pass of his own during last night's game against the Boston Bruins…from his rear!!!
Check it out:
Impressive for a guy who has more goals (292) over the course of his career than assists (265), wouldn't you agree?
And while the Rangers would go on to blow the 3-0 lead that Nash helped them build, they would eventually prevail 4-3 over their Original Six rivals in a shootout.
