Orlando Magic Mascot and Fans Do the Harlem Shake (Video)
Brace yourselves: a tidal wave of Harlem Shake videos are coming.
This latest internet meme is somewhere between 9 and 14 days old, depending on which YouTube video you want to pinpoint as the originator. However, in that short amount of time, the trend is already everywhere, including the newsroom at TSN’s SportsCentre.
Now it’s spread to Amway Arena, home of the Orlando Magic. That’s where “Stuff the Magic Dragon,” the team’s official mascot, recently made his own Harlem Shake video. And of course, he enlisted the help of the fans in the arena.
Take a look:
Not bad at all, Mr. Magic Dragon. I’ve seen worse Harlem Shake videos. Of course, it would have been better if you had full participation. I see a handful of dudes in khakis off to the wings just kind of standing there.
It’s always the dudes in the khakis, isn’t it?
Anyway, it’s only a matter of time before every single sports team in North American makes their own Harlem Shake video. It’s just a shame football season is over, because it would have been pretty awesome to see it done in, say, Michigan’s Big House, or the Rose Bowl.
