This season, the highest point total put up in a single game is 54. That feat was achieved just last week by the Warriors’ Stephen Curry, and it was only the second 50-point game of the year—the other coming from the NBA’s leading scorer, Kevin Durant, back in January.
However, while a 50-point game is impressive, the really elite achievement is the 60-point game. There have been 144 50-point games since 1990, but in the entire history of the NBA there have only been 62 60-point games, and they have been produced by just 20 players.
Now that’s an elite group. It’s so elite, in fact, that it doesn’t even include guys like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell, or LeBron James.
So who is a member of the 60-point club? Well, you’re about to find out.
