After starting off the lockout-shortened 2012-13 NHL season with just four points in his first eight games, and ten points in his first 16, many wondered whether we had seen the last of Alex Ovechkin‘s dominance at the offensive end of NHL rinks.  Apparently, we haven’t.

The Russian sniper entered last night with three goals and four assists in his previous five contests, and he added another goal and two assists during a 7-1 thrashing of the Florida Panthers.

With those three points, Ovechkin now has ten points in his last six games, five of which resulted in victories for the Caps.  That gives him a total of 2o points in 22 games this season, and it earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, March 7, 2013.
