Stat Line of the Night — 3/7/2013 — Alex Ovechkin
Stat Line of the Night — 3/10/2013 — Chris Kunitz
Playing alongside Sidney Crosby sure does have its perks. Chris Kunitz has found that out firsthand this season, as the Penguins forward entered Sunday with 14 goals and 31 points in his first 25 games this season. And he added to each of those totals in a big way during yesterday’s match-up with the New York Islanders.
Crosby had himself an impressive games as well, recording five assists on the evening, and three of those helpers came on Chris Kunitz goals, as the 33-year-old winger finished with a hat-trick and two assists, en route to a five-point night of his own and a 6-1 Penguins victory.
Following their five-point performances, Sidney Crosby and Chris Kunitz now sit first and third in NHL scoring with 45 and 36 points, respectively. And Kunitz also earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, March 10, 2013.
