Watch Kevin Durant Break Vince Carter’s Ankles (Video)
Normally, you wouldn’t expect an ankle-breaker from a 6’9″ basketball player, even if he does play “small” forward. Sure, small forwards are supposed to be more agile than the power forwards and centers, but 6’9″ is still a long frame to maneuver in such a fashion that you fake opponents off their feet.
Of course, when you’re talking about a rare talent like Kevin Durant, none of the traditional basketball conventions apply. If the Thunder were in a real bind and needed the guy to fill in at point guard, Durant would probably do pretty well. And as proof of this, I offer the following clip in which KD brings the ball up the court, does a little shimmy, and breaks the ankles of the Dallas Mavericks’ Vince Carter.
Sure, Durant misses the three-pointer after he puts Carter on his backside, but it was still a sweet play. Take a look:
Of course, some of you might be thinking, really? Vince Carter? His ankles are so old they are probably arthritic. How hard could it be to break those things? But while Carter is indeed a dinosaur at the ripe old age of 36, you still have to tip your hat to Durant for the nice moves.
