Mario Balotelli Scored a Gorgeous Goal for Italy Against Brazil Yesterday (Video)
Sometimes you forget why everybody makes such a big deal about Mario Balotelli all the time. After all, he’s not the first unpredictable, eccentric character in the history of pro sports, and he certainly won’t be the last.
But then “Super Mario” goes and scores a brilliant goal, and you remember why he’s a big deal: in addition to being a loose cannon, the Italian striker is also really, really good.
Well, on Thursday in Genoa, we were all given another one of those reminders. In an exhibition against Brazil, Balotelli scored a stunning goal from 25 yards out to tie the game and complete Italy’s comeback from a 2-0 deficit.
The goal came at the 57 minute mark. Balotelli got the ball outside the box, and when Brazil’s defense failed to pounce on him, he decided to take advantage of the space and fire a blistering shot that curled up and over a somewhat unprepared Julio Cesar and into the back of the net.

Not too shabby, is it?
