Redemption! John Wall Reaches the Plate With His Latest Ceremonial First Pitch (Video)
Remember the last time Washington Wizards guard John Wall threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Washington Nationals baseball game? How could you forget? The dude, who is known for his ability to dish a basketball with the best of them, became quite the laughingstock after he one-hopped the ball approximately five feet wide of the plate. It was so bad that many were labeling it as the worst opening pitch in baseball history.
Well, John Wall had his shot at redemption yesterday prior to the finale of a three-game set between the Nats and the White Sox at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C. And while he didn’t exactly throw a fastball down the plate, we’ll give him credit for at least reaching the catcher this time around.
Check it out:
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so relieved after throwing out a ceremonial first pitch. Wall must have been awfully nervous as he headed to the mound. Thankfully, his sweaty hands didn’t result in another one-hopper.
