Boston Red Sox starter Clay Buchholz has been dominant thus far this season, as he entered the weekend having allowed only one run against in 14 innings of work through his first two starts.  And his dominance on the mound continued on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Buchholz’s third start of the season was also his best, as he entered the eighth inning of yesterday’s contest with a no-hitter intact.  Unfortunately, it was broken up by Kelly Johnson’s broken-bat single, but the 28-year-old righty would still finish the game with 11 strikeouts and just two hits and four walks against through eight innings of work, as he was credited with the win during Boston’s 5-0 victory over the Rays.

Following that performance, Buchholz now sits at 3-0 on the season with a ridiculous 0.41 ERA.  He has been lights-out for the Sox thus far, and his latest outing was worthy of “The Stat Line of the Night” for Sunday, April 14, 2013.
