Stat Line of the Night — 5/20/2013 — Patrick Corbin
After putting together a 6-8 record and a 4.54 ERA in 17 starts during his rookie season in 2012, much was expected out of Patrick Corbin entering this year, but no one could have expected what we’ve seen thus far.
Entering last night’s game against the Colorado Rockies, the 23-year-old lefty had a 6-0 record and 1.52 ERA in eight starts, and those numbers would only get better.
Corbin was magnificent on the mound once again, pitching his first complete game of the season, allowing just three hits, one walk and one earned run against while striking out a season-high ten batters during the Diamondbacks’ 5-1 victory.
With the win, Corbin improves his record to 7-0, while dropping his ERA to 1.44—good enough for second in the Majors. And he also earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Monday, May 20, 2013.
