LeBron James: I Don’t Flop…Not That There’s Anything WRONG With That (GIFs)
There’s been a lot of talking about flopping during the 2013 NBA Playoffs. The league instituted a strict code of penalties to punish players who do it, but of course, it still happens…a lot.
So what has LeBron James, the best basketball player in the world, had to say about flopping and the league’s penalties? Well, unfortunately he doesn’t think it’s that big of a deal. Here’s what he had to say, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports:
“It hasn’t been a problem for many guys at all. I don’t really pay too much attention to it. It’s year one, so you’re not just going to go cold turkey. Guys have been accustomed to doing it for years, and it’s not even a bad thing. You’re just trying to get the advantage. Any way you can get the advantage over an opponent to help your team win, then so be it.”
That’s right. Flopping isn’t even a bad thing, apparently. But does LeBron himself flop? Here’s what he had to say about that during the Bulls-Heat series:
“I don’t need to flop. I play an aggressive game. I don’t flop. I’ve never been one of those guys.”
Did you get that?
Thanks, LeBron. Glad we set that straight.
