Stat Line of the Night — 5/29/2013 — Dioner Navarro
Chicago Cubs catcher Dioner Navarro entered yesterday’s game against the Chicago White Sox with just three home runs on the season, but by the end of the afternoon, he would successfully double that total while leading his team to victory.
Navarro stepped to the plate four times on the day, and he would make the most of those four at bats, recording three home runs, six RBIs, and adding a walk for good measure during the Cubs’ 9-3 win over their cross-town rivals.
Interestingly enough, Navarro wasn’t the only MLB player to record three home runs on Wednesday, as the Nats’ Ryan Zimmerman matched that feat during a game against the Orioles; however, his three home runs came in a losing effort, making Navarro the easy choice for “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, May 29, 2013.
