Mikhail Youzhny Takes His Frustration Out On a Tennis Racket at the French Open (Video)
Unless you’re a very serious tennis fan, you probably haven’t heard of Mikhail Youzhny. The 30-year-old Russian is currently the #26 player in the world, and his highest ranking was #8 back in 2008. So he’s not exactly a household name.
That’s kind of a shame, though. The guy is about as entertaining a personality as you’ll find on the pro tour.
Last year at Wimbledon, for example, Youzhny was playing Roger Federer and getting smoked, so he walked over to the Royal box where Andre Agassi was sitting and asked the tennis legend for advice.
Before that, back when he was at the height of his tennis powers in 2008, the dude smashed a tennis racket on his own face…on purpose…three times. It left a stream of blood running down his face.
So what did Mikhail do now? Well, it seems he’s learned not to take his anger out on his face. However, after going down a set and three-love to Tommy Haas at the French Open on Monday, he did smash his racket on a bench…nine time…until it was completely shattered.
Take a look:
That Mikhail Youzhny—he’s one wacky tennis play, huh?
