Stat Line of the Night — 6/5/2013 — Julio Teheran
Stat Line of the Night — 6/6/2013 — Tim Duncan
When compared side-by-side, LeBron James‘ triple-double may appear to be more impressive than Tim Duncan‘s double-double during Game One of the NBA Finals, but when you add in the game’s final score, it’s not.
James led the way for the Heat with 18 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists, but on this night he and the Heat were no match for the Spurs. And leading the way for San Antonio was none other than Tim Duncan himself, as the 37-year-old forward scored 20 points to go along with 14 rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 37 minutes of playing time during the Spurs’ 92-88 victory.
Big time performances in the NBA Finals are nothing new for Duncan, who has won three NBA Finals MVPs over the course of his career. And if continues to play like he did last night, it may not be long before he adds a fourth Finals MVP trophy to his collection, but for now he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, June 6, 2013.
