Stat Line of the Night — 6/11/2013 — Aaron Harang
Heading into last night’s MLB action, Seattle Mariners pitcher Aaron Harang had only pitched past the sixth inning once in nine starts this season. That one instance would turn out to be a complete-game shutout performance (on May 27), and he replicated that performance on Tuesday against the Houston Astros.
Harang began the evening with an abysmal 6.70 ERA, but he looked nothing like the pitcher we’ve gotten used to seeing on the mound in 2013, as he went the distance, allowing only two hits and no walks against while striking out a season-high ten batters during the Mariners’ 4-0 victory.
With the win, Harang improves his record to 3-6 on the season while lowering his ERA to 5.60. He still has a long ways to go in order to make those numbers more respectable, but last night’s performance will certainly help, and it also earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, June 11, 2013,
