Munenori Kawasaki Tells Blue Jays Fans He Is a Canuck, Then Sings Canadian National Anthem (Video)
The Toronto Blue Jays’ Munenori Kawasaki is the most entertaining player in Major League Baseball. This has absolutely nothing to do with his abilities to hit or catch or throw the ball, and everything to do with his comedic timing and feigned ignorance of the English language. Any time he gets in front of a camera the guy goes viral, and he’s made Blue Jays fans completely forget about that injured Jose Reyes guy.
Okay, maybe they haven’t forgotten about Reyes. But they have enjoyed their time with Kawasaki. How could they not when he’s doing stuff like this:

Anyway, he’s become so popular in Toronto now that people are making amazing videos like this:
And now the guys over at Blue Jays blog, Bluebird Banter, have started an amazing write-in campaign to get Munenori on the 2013 American League All-Star Team, complete with political-style attack ads.

Will the campaign actually work? Of course not, but that’s not the point. The point is just to celebrate the joy this guy brings to what can sometimes be a monotonous game.
