Stat Line of the Night — 6/20/2013 — LeBron James
He did it. When LeBron James joined the Miami Heat during the summer of 2010, he promised to bring multiple championships to South Beach. Last night, be brought them their second in as many years after leading the Heat to a 95-88 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
As he has done throughout his career, James came through with another big Game 7 performance, scoring a game-high 37 points to go along with 12 rebounds, four assists and two steals. Four of his 37 points would come in the final 30 seconds of the game, as he nailed a clutch jumper with 27 seconds remaining to put the Heat up by four, and he would later seal the deal by making good on his two free-throws with 23 seconds left to play. The rest is history.
James finished the series averaging 25.3 points, 10.9 rebounds, 7.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Those numbers would also earn LeBron his second consecutive Finals MVP award, in addition to earning “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, June 20, 2013.
