Stat Line of the Night — 7/30/2013 — Freddie Freeman
Stat Line of the Night — 7/31/2013 — Mike Minor
The Atlanta Braves are on a roll, and that roll continued during Wednesday night’s contest against the Colorado Rockies due in large part to Mike Minor‘s performance on the mound.
Looking for their sixth win in a row, the Braves called upon Minor for the start, and the 25-year-old delivered in the form of seven shutout innings of two-hit ball. Those two hits, which were both singles, would account for the only base runners that the Rockies could muster against Minor, as he surrendered zero walks while striking out six during the Braves’ 9-0 victory.
With Tim Hudson out due to a broken ankle, the rest of the Braves’ rotation will be called upon to step up in his place. Minor did just that last night, as he improves to 11-5 on the season with a 2.75 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP, and he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Wednesday, July 31, 2013.
