Football Is Back, and Judging by this Touchdown, So Is CJ2K (Video)
When Titans running back Chris Johnson ran a 4.24 forty at the NFL Combine in 2008, eyebrows were raised. And when he rushed for 2,006 yards in his second year in the league, nicknames were handed out. Chris Johnson was no longer Chris Johnson. He was CJ2K, only the 7th player in the history of the NFL to rush for 2,000 yards.
Unfortunately, the guy has not lived up to that nickname since 2009. In 2010 he rushed for 1,364. Then in 2011 he dipped all the way down to 1,047. And last year, in 2012, he recorded just 1,243 rushing yards.
Now, those are all very solid numbers. But again, when your nickname indicates 2,000 yards, getting just over half of that really doesn’t impress anybody.
That being said, if you want to judge the guy by his performance in the first quarter of his first preseason game of 2013, then you’d have to say it looks like CJ2K just might be back.

Great moves? Check. Blistering speed? Check.
AFC secondaries beware. Somebody may have lit a fire under Chris Johnson’s butt.
