2013 World Series of Poker: Classic Reaction From Carter Gill Following Bad Beat on the River (Video)

Bad beats seem to be a dime a dozen inside the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas during the World Series of Poker.  Here’s another one, but what makes this bad beat from the 2013 WSOP so special is the classic reaction it produces on the face of the victim.

That victim is Carter Gill.  At one point, things seemed to be looking great for Gill.  With two-pairs (aces and tens) after the turn, Gill was completely dominating David Paredes‘ pair of aces.  And after his all-in bet of $372,000 was called, it seemed almost certain that Gill would double-up.

Then, this happened:

If you watch closely, at the 0:58 mark you can actually see the life get sucked right out of what was once a very confident Carter Gill.

That’s poker for you.
