Stat Line of the Night — 9/10/2013 — Mark Trumbo
The 2013 MLB season has been a disappointing one for the Los Angeles Angels, as they find themselves well out of a playoff spot despite entering the season as World Series contenders. But even with his team struggling mightily, Angels first baseman Mark Trumbo has been making the most of the 2013 season, and he continued to do so last night versus the Toronto Blue Jays.
Trumbo stepped to the plate five times on the evening, recording a single, three doubles and a solo home run. He would finish the game going 5-for-5 at the dish with five runs and two RBIs, as the Angels cruised to the 12-6 victory over the Jays.
Following last night’s performance, Trumbo now sits in a tie for fourth in the Majors with 32 home runs, while his 91 RBIs are good enough for seventh in the American League. His 32nd homer also tied his career-high, which he set during the 2012 season, and it earns him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Tuesday, September 10, 2013.
