With Andy Reid making his return to Philadelphia for the first time since being fired by the Eagles after last season, the Chiefs players seemed determined to get their new head coach the win.  And no Chiefs player put forth a more determined effort on the field than Justin Houston.

The third-year linebacker out of Georgia was a force to be reckoned with, as he racked up an amazing six tackles, 3.5 sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries and three pass deflections.  That type of constant pressure on Michael Vick prevented the Eagles’ quick-pace offence from ever really finding a rhythm, as the Chiefs came away with a 26-16 victory.

With the win, Kansas City improves to 3-0, just one season after finishing last in the league with a 2-14 record.  As for Houston, he now has a league-leading 6.5 sacks on the season, and he earns “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, September 19, 2013.
