Stat Line of the Night — 9/25/2013 — Evan Longoria
Stat Line of the Night — 9/26/2013 — Frank Gore
Following a disappointing outing in week one of the NFL season, Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace complained about his lack of involvement in the team’s offense. The following week he recorded nine receptions for 115 yards and a touchdown.
After week two of the season, it was Steelers receiver Antonio Brown complaining about his lack of involvement, leading to a breakout performance in week three (nine receptions, 196 yards, two touchdowns).
As for the latest NFL player to complain about his lack of involvement in his team’s offense, that would be Frank Gore following the San Francisco 49ers’ week three loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
So how would Gore respond in week four against the St. Louis Rams? How does “20 carries for 153 yards and a touchdown” sound?
Those were Gore’s numbers during the 49ers’ 35-11 victory over the Rams last night, and they earn him “The Stat Line of the Night” for Thursday, September 26, 2013.
